As my mom would often tell me, I started playing the piano as soon as I could reach the keys. Soon after, I began playing songs I had heard by ear and creating my own compositions. At age six, I discovered a new love — I began taking dance lessons and immediately fell in love with ballet. Of course, I dreamed of someday becoming a famous ballerina. I went on to study dance in college, and while earning my degree in Theater and Dance Performance I was also able to take classes in music theory and composition. When I wasn’t dancing, I could often be found playing a piano in one of the tiny practice rooms provided by the music department.
I enjoyed many years as a dance instructor and choreographer, and my first two solo piano albums are music for ballet class, titled Essence of Ballet Volumes 1 and 2, and reflect my love of dance and the music that inspires it. In recent years I have also become a licensed massage therapist, and it was a natural next step to create music specifically for massage and relaxation. My next album, A Body At Rest: Music For Massage And Relaxation, is meant to bring healing not only to the body, but also to the mind and spirit.  It features piano as well, but also explores other instrumentation including flute, harp, and strings. My most recent album, What The Storm Leaves Behind, is a collection of solo piano songs written throughout my life.  I have experienced many storms in my life, and the songs on this album convey the range of emotions I have experienced, from deep sadness and heartbreak to profound joy, peace, and hope for the future. My hope is that this music will help each listener connect with their own inner landscape, with whatever challenges they are facing, and with the beauty, wisdom, and resilience that their storms have left behind.
