“Surely no one could coax more passionate feelings and rainbow colors out of the instrument.” writes Oxford University Press author and former Keyboard Magazine editor Mark Vail of iconic pianist, composer & Steinway artist, Starr Parodi. He goes on to say “Parodi’s pianistic sense and delivery go way beyond creative. Words that come to mind while listening include imaginative, courageous, dynamic, passionate, gutsy, pensive, restrained, and euphoric. I’m thoroughly entranced by the whole experience.” Starr’s music is timeless and yet timely, both reflecting and drawing inspiration from the resonance of the world we live in as well as the art of genre bending artists such as Frida Kahlo. It is the inspiration of Frida Kahlo’s courageous spirit that has led to Starr’s latest chart topping album, The Heart Of Frida which was recently honored by ZMR International Radio Broadcasters as Piano Album Of The Year - Solo. With her live concert presentation of The Heart Of Frida, Starr merges multi-media, creative electronic manipulations of the acoustic piano, guest vocalists, (such as long time collaborator and former lead singer of The Temptations Louis Price), with aerial choreography performed by former stars of Cirque du Soleil, The Steben Twins.  All this exploring the duality of Frida’s vivid imagination in a way that both uplifts and creates a powerful emotional connection with the audience.

Starr’s previous album, Common Places, was lauded by Grammy nominated host of KCRW’s New Ground, Chris Douridas who said, “This deeply passionate and beautiful recording is one of the best albums of the year.”, and was also honored as Best Solo Piano Album of the Year by
