Hello! Here’s something about me: I’m an independent Italian pianist; I was classically trained, studying in various Conservatories with outstanding teachers who made me love the great Maestros of the past (I venerate Bach and Chopin).
Since the very first I felt that the classical academic world was too narrow for me. That’s the reason I went on a look out of new musical scopes, new instruments, ancient and contemporary.
To be honest I have always been attracted by different contemporary arts and their possible combinations. Ten years ago, I founded the “Perpianosolo Meeting”: a festival born under the aegis of Pierre-Laurent Aimard who accepted to be the Honorary President.
There I was able to enjoy many shows in collaboration with dancers, actors, photographers, video makers, painters. I also recorded for “Wergo” a CD with the “Rite of Spring” (piano four-hands version by Stravinsky himself) and “Makrokosmos IV” by George Crumb.
In 2016 I began a new music adventure, a new start: I released my first solo album, completely self-produced “My piano dolce vita”: a journey across some of the best soundtracks of outstanding movies, all written by Italian or Italian-American composers.
A few months later I published the premiere recording of Ludovico Einaudi’s album “Stanze” in the original piano version written by Einaudi himself. I feel proud to have been the first one to record it.
Afterwards I focused on the eclectic and prolific composer Max Richter. First of all I reduced for piano “Mrs Dalloway, In the Garden” from his album “Three Worlds: Music from Woolf Works”, and recorded it on an ancient Steinway 1899 .
On the contrary I decided to record “Max Richter: Piano Works” using the amazing sound of UNA CORDA: what a thrilling and inspiring experience!
In 2017 Philip Glass celebrated his 80th birthday: I collected on my album “Philip Glass: Piano Works”, recorded with UNA CORDA too, some of his most significant piano works.
About the future? Well, I have a dream: a debut as a composer, a release of a collection of my Piano Songs. Meanwhile you may enjoy my EP “Other Lines” with four original piano songs.
