Award-winning pianist-composer Ovidio De Ferrari’s captivating performances established him as one of the forerunners of his generation. Recent commissioned compositional works have seen his music working with several orchestras around the world. In 2009 the Symphonic Orchestra of Chile with its prestigious conductor Michał Nesterowicz, recorded six composed Symphonic poems based on the book “Poems from The Desert” of poet Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- president and Prime Minister of UAE.
In 2010 he was appointed as the conductor of the Dubai Chamber Orchestra. Last year (2016) he made his debut with his own orchestra, The Ovidio Chamber Orchestra (The Dubai World Concert)
Ovidio De Ferrari is an alumnus of the Faculty of arts, University of Chile where he studied Music Pedagogy and a Master Degree in Composition with renowned Professors Juan Lema and Cirilo Vila. Mr. de Ferrari is the founder of the oldest music institute in UAE, The Ovidio Music Institute opened on 2000. In 2012 De Ferrari has been awarded by the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award For Distinguished Performance for his excellent participation as the judge in the 12th Asia – Pacific Conference on Giftedness.
Performing throughout the Middle East world each season with his current orchestra, highlights include recitals in Doha (Qatar), Abu- Dhabi, Dubai, (UAE) New Delhi and Bombay (India)
In recent months De Ferrari, has been invited to the famous factory of pianos Blüthner (Leipzig – Germany) to become and official artist and ambassador for the Middle East.
De Ferrari records (Tunecore and QRS technologies) are available worldwide in more than 150 music stores. His compositions have been several times the Editors’ choice and top 10 on radios online this year. He won an award for the best artist of the year 2016 at the Akademia award in Los Angeles-USA.
