With his piano technician father and his mother a singer and self confessed drama queen, music and theatre were firmly rooted in Matthew Gardner’s upbringing.
His simple direct music often reflects the joys, challenges and emotions of everyday life and the wild beauty of the coast and countryside surrounding his Devon home.
His debut piano album Back To The Start was recorded in his late father’s piano workshop and independently released in October 2014.
He continues to write new music in a number of genres and welcomes commissions, collaborations and opportunities to perform live.
