“When Birds Go Walking” reflects the conversation that might occur when birds take a break from flying and go walking, in the style of such poems as A. A. Mimes The House at Pooh Corner, the Loggins and Messina, song of the same name, and Mother Goose songs. The birds discuss such topics as neighborhood gossip, their families, politics, and the weather. The listener is invited to create the lyrics reflecting these avian conversations.
