When I score films I will often treat or prepare my Steinway with different
types of fabric, felt or other items to give the piano a darker, more
harmonically complex and intimate sound. It also exposes the sound of
the inner workings of the instrument and illuminates the sound of the
moving wood, felt and metal. I have decided to release some pieces that I
have written using these techniques, which take the listener on a warm
 and intimate journey.

Lucciola translates to Firefly from Italian, They are beautiful and bring such a
brilliant colorful energy to our world. I hope this piece I wrote and
recorded on my 1928 Steinway B prepared with fabric and felt brings you a
sense of both energy and gentleness.
