Deep and Crisp and Even - A Felt Piano collection of Traditional Christmas Songs
  • Released: November 6, 2020

Many musicians are drawn to producing a Christmas album. This one has been over five years in the making. If I was going to do a festive album, especially based around 12 traditional songs, then I wanted it to be special!

So I’ve been working on arrangements that offer something different rather than repeating something that had already been done many times before.

I hope you like these arrangements.

And I hope you like the use of a felt piano throughout.

The title is, of course, a line from the version of the carol Good King Wenceslas that was written in the 19th century by Mason Neale, who was the warden to Sackville College - an alms house for the poor of East Grinstead, West Sussex in the UK.

East Grinstead is a special place for me. I lived there, and nearby, for many years, and have wonderful memories of the place and the people I met there.
