Jarleif’s first album consists of all improvisations, unedited, unaltered. This is Jarleif’s favorite outlet of creativity. His compositions vary from short solo pieces, to longer arrangements based on situational improvisations performed by the composer.
Jarleif’s hope is that his music can provide an opportunity to draw nearer to God, and provide a sense of calm in the storms of our lives on this earth.
About the composer:
Jarleif grew up in Norway, and had a love for music since before he was walking! It felt very natural to start private organ lessons at the age of 7, on a Hammond in his childhood home. Music theory and Pipe Organ lessons followed a few years later in Oppdal Church, Norway. Jarleif relocated to Michigan in 2001, and stopped playing almost completely. In 2012 he built a home studio after feeling drawn towards music ministry, and feels calm and complete only when sitting by an instrument. He released his first album, “with His hands” in 2013. Jarleif relocated back to Norway in 2014 where he’s the Hammond organist for Oppdal Gospel Choir, as well as the Oppdal Christian Center Worship team.
