Alastair Cameron is a professional musician who has worked for over ten years as a teacher, composer, conductor and repetiteur. He has conducted a range of ensembles, from orchestras to choirs, with a particular interest in the latter. His start as choirster at the age of 10 gave birth to his particular love of vocal music, and he has worked with choirs and lead singing workshops in places as diverse as a prison and schools. His work as a repetiteur has also been extensive, and he has played for a large number of musical theatre companies across the country.
Alastair was founder and musical director of the acclaimed London Contemporary Music Group (LCMG) who premiered a number of contemporary works, including A Loud Celebration by Mark Anthony Turnage.
An award winning composer himself, his compositions have been used in film, radio and television, and broadcast on a variety of channels around the world, from the BBC and Paramount Comedy Channel, to Costa Rica’s national TV station, Canal 9.
